Friends & Family Camp
We are excited to announce our first ever Friends and Family Camp! This expansive program offers fun and delight for adults, kids, the young at heart, the old at heart, those new to Camp, those returning to Camp, and anyone who has ever wanted to run away with the circus (with or without their friends or family). The program contains classic CWR classes, play groups for the littles, spaces and opportunities for adult classes and gatherings, exciting performances and evening programs, and lots of FUN!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to register?
Yes! To ensure we have enough food, staff, space, and supplies, we are requiring that everyone register online by May 31st. Registration will open in January!
When is it happening?
The program will run from the afternoon of Thursday, June 18th to midday on Sunday, June 21st. More specific times will be posted soon (the first meal served on Thursday will be dinner and the last meal served on Sunday will be a buffet-style lunch). Please note that there is no option to arrive before Thursday or stay beyond Saturday. Thank you in advance for your understanding!
Is this Adult Camp?
While Friends and Family Camp is running in the time slot that has often been held by Adult Camp, this is going to be a different program. Our hope is to build on momentum from the 50th Anniversary Reunion and the growing number of Winnarainbow families and curious newcomers who are looking for opportunities to come experience the magic of Camp. We aim to preserve and build upon so many of the things that have made Adult Camp what it is over the years, but this is a program serving both kids and adults, both families and individuals!
Is this a reunion for alumni only?
No! This event is for everyone! It is a great opportunity to come to Camp if you are curious about Winnarainbow, if you have young kids who might like an intro to Camp, if you want to experience the magic of camp with your partner or family, if you want to get away from it all and run away to the circus, if you like Adult Camp, or if you just want to come take circus classes in a beautiful area while recharging your battery.
How much does it cost?
In order to cover the cost of this program, we have set tuition as follows: $650 per adult (ages 15+) and $450 per child (ages 6-14). Children ages 0-5 are free. The cost includes all food and lodging (in the tipis – see more info on sleeping below).
We are grateful to the people who underwrote the 50th Anniversary celebration so we could offer reduced tuition at that event. Please contact us if you are interested in attending Friends and Family Camp, but find cost to be a barrier: 510-525-4304 or arainbow@mcn.org.
Will this event sell out?
Our 50th Anniversary celebration completely sold out last year, and we are anticipating a fully enrolled program this summer, so register early to secure your spot! Registration will open in January and will close when we sell out or on May 31st, whichever is sooner.
Can I offer a class or volunteer?
During the registration process, there will be an opportunity to indicate interest in teaching a class or volunteering to support the event in other ways. At this time, we are not able to waive the attendance fee for folks interested in volunteering, but we will update those interested if that changes.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes! This year’s program is meant for adults, young adults, and children alike! We are excited to have programming for all ages! More details coming soon!
Where will I sleep?
Attendees will sleep in the tipis, and you will have a chance to request your tipi mates or give us your general preferences (adult tipis, family tipis, etc.). Attendees may also bring their own RV or camper (with parking available in our parking lot) or stay offsite (by their own arrangement). A small number of tent sites may be available, but we are still working to determine what will be possible.
What will I eat?
We will be fed by Camp’s wonderful kitchen, and you will have a chance to indicate dietary preferences (vegetarian, vegan, etc.) and allergies during the registration process.
Will Lake Veronica be open?
Yes! We are working hard to ensure we have enough lifeguards to open the lake!
Can I arrive early or stay late?
Because of other programming taking place at Camp, there is no option to arrive before Thursday afternoon or to stay beyond Sunday afternoon. We cannot offer any exceptions to this policy and we thank you so much for your understanding.
Is there a discount if I can’t attend the entire event?
At this time, we are not able to offer a discount for those planning to attend only part of the event. If that changes, we will post that information here.
What’s the substance use policy?
This is a drug- and alcohol-free event. We ask that you not bring drugs or alcohol to Camp or consume them or be under the influence while you are with us.
What if I have more questions?
